Recently, Asia Packaging Union (APU) attended the Vietnam Medi-Pharm 2026 exhibition in Hanoi. As a company dedicated to the R&D and application of Bag-on-Valve (BOV) packaging technology, we did not set up a booth this time. Instead, we participated as professional visitors, with an open mind and a strong willingness to learn and exchange ideas. Our main activities included:

1. Friendly visits to BOV potential exhibitors – sharing technical insights.
We visited several exhibitors whose products could potentially benefit from BOV packaging, covering areas such as:Pharmaceutical preparations,Disinfectant products,Wound care,Oral care.In a relaxed yet professional atmosphere, we introduced the core features of BOV packaging (e.g., air‑liquid separation, 360° spray capability, eco‑friendly propellants). At the same time, we listened carefully to their existing knowledge and practical concerns regarding this packaging format.

We found that some companies had already been exposed to BOV and showed further interest; many more responded positively after our on‑site discussion, recognizing the advantages of BOV technology in medical scenarios. The conversations were open and friendly, and we gained valuable inspiration from their diverse product perspectives.

2. Evaluating the exhibition scale and structure – assessing future participation.
We took this opportunity to systematically observe the overall scale, exhibitor composition, and visitor professionalism of the Hanoi medical exhibition. The event brought together suppliers and buyers from Vietnam and other countries/regions (e.g., Korea, Japan). The exchange atmosphere was practical, and the professional level was high. Based on this experience, we believe that formally exhibiting in the future would be a worthwhile option, helping APU establish direct connections with more regional partners.

3. Visiting end‑user markets – understanding real usage scenarios.
Beyond the exhibition hall, we also visited local pharmaceutical and medical supply retail points in Hanoi (including pharmacies and supermarkets) to observe end‑user habits and potential needs for various spray packaging formats. Our observations indicate that the Vietnamese medical market is in a rapid development phase, with growing demand for efficient, safe, and convenient packaging solutions. In particular, for niche applications such as sterile sprays, first‑aid care, and wound cleaning, BOV technology shows strong potential.

Summary.
This was a highly rewarding visit. We not only met several promising medical exhibitors but also established initial communication channels with them. More importantly, through face‑to‑face exchanges and on‑site observations, we gained a clearer understanding of the market’s current awareness of and interest in BOV packaging.
As a next step, APU will evaluate whether to officially participate in the next Hanoi medical exhibition, based on the feedback received during this visit. We look forward to engaging in deeper collaboration with local and regional companies as an official exhibitor.
